Da Nang city is located in the centre of Vietnam, on the South Centre coast. It is one of Vietnams largest cities, with the fourth highest population in the country, though it has a peaceful charm and unique character. It is a very picturesque city, with many natural attractions. As it is situated on the Han River, it has the attractiveness of many beautiful beaches, including My Khe, Lang Co and Non Nuoc, as well as the majesty of Marble Mountain, Son Tra Peninsula and Hai Van Pass.
There are also many man-made sights that are unique and worthy of visiting. Da Nang has many festivals, which are an important part of the locals lives. Some are based in religion, others are traditions which have been passed down over many years such as the An Hai Village festival and the Avalokitecvara festival. There are also numerous beautiful religious buildings and constructions to visit and admire, such as the Cham Museum.
The climate in this area is monsoonal. There are two seasons, with the dry season stretching from January till July and the wet season being from Aug to December.
A rapid rise in Da Nangs popularity as a tourist destination means that accommodation is quite readily available. There is a range of places to stay, in terms of price and quality.
